When an upload is refused
- This is binary G-code (.bgcode)
- PrusaSlicer saved binary G-code. In Printers → General → Firmware (Printer Settings in older versions), untick Supports binary G-code, or untick Use binary G-code when the printer supports it in Preferences → Other. Export again, and upload the
.gcode. Step by step, or watch it (1 min) (opens in a new tab). - This project isn't sliced yet
- A
.3mfdownloaded from MakerWorld or Printables, or saved as a project, holds the model, not the toolpath. Open it in Bambu Studio or OrcaSlicer, slice it, and choose Export plate sliced file. In PrusaSlicer, slice it and choose Export G-code. How, and what to do if it's greyed out. - We can't render this file
- An STL, OBJ or STEP file is a model: it has no toolpath to render. Slice it, then upload the
.gcodeor.gcode.3mf. Why G-code. - This file is too large
- Files can be up to 100 MB. A
.gcode.3mfis compressed, so it's often much smaller than the same.gcode. Or slice a plate with one copy of the product. - This file can't be opened
- The
.gcode.3mfis damaged or incomplete, often after a download or a copy that stopped halfway. Export it again from your slicer. - This file doesn't print anything
- The file has no printing moves, which usually means an empty plate was exported. Check the plate in your slicer, slice it, and export again.
- This G-code is in inches
- The G-code is in inches. Set your slicer to millimeters, export again, and upload the new file.
- We're in private testing
- Uploads were for invited testers during the private test. Everyone signed in can upload now, so write to support@extrudio.site if you see this.
- Sign in to upload
- Uploading needs an account. Sign in with a code by email or with Google, then drop the file again.
- The upload took too long
- The upload's link expired before the file arrived, which happens with a large file on a slow connection. Try again: a
.gcode.3mfis smaller to send. - Something went wrong on our side
- Something failed on our side. Try again in a few minutes, and write to support@extrudio.site if it keeps failing.
- We couldn't read this file
- We couldn't read the file. Export it again from your slicer and upload the new one. Write to support@extrudio.site if it still fails.
Notes about your file
The file check notes anything unusual it read. Most notes need nothing from you.
- Part of the print has no feature labels
- That's normal for FullControl or other custom G-code. We render every line as printed, so there's nothing to do.
- The header's layer count doesn't match the file
- It happens when G-code is edited or joined. We render the layers the file really has.
- The file doesn't mark its layers
- We found the layers from height changes, so the printer's own start and end moves may show in the render. A file from Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer marks its layers.
- The header's height doesn't match the file
- We render what's printed, so there's nothing to do.
- Some line widths don't match the plastic laid down
- Those lines may render a little thicker or thinner than printed. Check the preview: it's usually harmless.
- The file doesn't say its filament diameter
- We assumed the usual diameter to work out the line widths. If you print with another one, set it in your slicer and export again.
- Nothing in the file lays down plastic
- Export the sliced print, not an empty plate.
- The print swaps filament by hand
- The render shows each tool in one filament, so the bands above a color change show in the tool's filament, not the one you'll swap in.
- Filament changes are flushed into the print
- The real print has blended bands there. The render shows each tool in its own filament.
- Filament changes are flushed into the infill
- That's inside the print, so the render doesn't change.
- Too detailed to render
- A render holds a limited number of vertices, and this print needs more. Slice a plate with one copy of the product, or use a thicker layer height, then upload it again.
When a preview doesn't show
- Choose a plate to see a preview
- This file has several plates. Choose the one to render, above the preview.
- Multi-color prints preview in one color for now
- A print with several filaments previews in one color for now. Its final images show every color.
- The renderer isn't reachable, so there's no preview
- The renderer isn't answering. Your setup is kept: try again in a minute.
- Previews are open to invited testers for now
- Previews were for invited testers during the private test. Everyone signed in has them now, so write to support@extrudio.site if you see this.
- Sign in to see previews
- Previews need an account. Sign in, and your setup is kept.
- Rendering is paused, so there's no preview for now
- Rendering is paused for a while. Your setup is kept, and previews come back when rendering resumes.
- A rendering limit is reached, so there's no preview for now
- Your account has used today's previews, or a limit for everyone is reached. Previews come back the next day, and final renders don't depend on them.
- This print doesn't suit the scene, so there's no preview
- Each set is made for prints within a range of sizes, and this one is outside it. Choose another scene, such as a studio backdrop.
- This print is too detailed to render, so there's no preview
- This print needs more detail than a render holds. Slice a plate with one copy of the product, or use a thicker layer height, then upload it again.
- The preview didn't render. Your final render can still go ahead.
- This preview didn't render. Try another one, or go ahead with the final render: it doesn't depend on the preview.
When an image fails
- Ran out of memory at this size.
- The image ran out of memory at its size. Retry it, which is free, or choose a smaller size or a lower quality.
- The render failed.
- Retry it: retrying a failed image is free. Write to support@extrudio.site if it fails again.
- The render took too long.
- It took too long and was stopped. Retry it for free, and write to support@extrudio.site if it happens again.
When a video fails
- Rendering failed
- Your credits come back. Make the video again.
- This print is too detailed to turn in a video
- Your credits come back. The print needs more detail than a video holds: slice a plate with one copy of the product, or use a thicker layer height, then upload it again.
- Its parts couldn't be put together
- Your credits come back. Make the video again.
- It took too long, so it was stopped
- It was stopped, and your credits come back. Make the video again.
- The close-up's point missed the print
- Your credits come back. Aim the close-up at the print itself, then make the video again.
